BCB CEO Sujon dismisses Domingo’s resignation talks

Russell Domingo was retained as the head coach for ODIs and Tests, with a new consultant, Sridharan Sriram, appointed for the T20I format. Since then, there has been speculation about whether the Domingo chapter in Bangladesh is going to end or not. Several media outlets and social media have been talking about his resignation since Thursday morning.

“This is not true,” confirmed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujon.

He told this by holding an official press conference in the capital’s Mirpur on Thursday afternoon.

“Domingo is on vacation. We talked with him. The matter of resignation is false. His comments did not highlight to the media as he wanted to say. Russell has spoken to several media outlets. However, our social media presented things differently,” Sujon said.

BCB CEO also said that he spoke with Russell this morning. A few days ago, he spoke to the media. He also discussed this with the board president.

Domingo is currently vacationing in his native South Africa. The head coach is scheduled to return to Dhaka within a few months. He is scheduled to submit his future plans to the board after returning home.

Nizamuddin Chowdhury said Domingo will join the team by the end of next month or the beginning of October and will submit his plan to the board soon. Hopefully, he will submit his plan to the board soon.

It is under discussion that he will go with the players on the tour of our A-team in Afghanistan. This is how we are communicating with Russell as planned, BCB CEO added.
