South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship winners have reached Dhaka after their highly celebrated victory in Nepal.
A Bangladesh Biman Flight, carrying the Bangladesh eve team, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 1.50 pm.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), the government’s transport agency, prepared an open-deck bus to welcome the victorious girls. The team of Sabina-Sanjida will go to BFF from the airport by this open-deck bus.
On Tuesday, it was decided in a meeting between the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and the Ministry of Sports that the champion girls will receive a grand celebratory welcome at the airport.
Abu Naim Sohag, general secretary of BFF, gave details about this in a press conference.
According to the schedule, the bus carrying the girls will reach BFF Bhavan from the airport via Kakali, Prime Minister’s Office, Bijay Sarani Flyover, Tejgaon, Mogbazar, Mouchak, Kakrail, Fakirapool, Motijheel.
However, after discussing with the traffic division, the roadmap for the women’s team to come to BFF Bhaban may be slightly changed.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin said he wants the victorious SAFF champions to give 60 percent more effort in their endeavour to challenge at the Asian level. He said this during a press briefing at the BFF House on Tuesday, the day after the women’s team clinched their maiden SAFF title by beating Nepal 3-1 in the final in Kathmandu.
